2.2 Challenges

In the nearly 14 years after the birth of Bitcoin, each project has built an autonomous community for each blockchain it has selected, based on the characteristics. There is typically an influential community for each of the projects and applications in NFT projects and DApps with a large number of members.

As the Web3 has expanded and matured, its autonomy has resulted in the establishment of several communities, making it difficult to determine which community to join and which community is best for the users.

Moreover, because existing social networking sites are centralized, anonymous accounts might be blocked, and accounts can be suspended unexpectedly even though they are engaging in activities similar to those of real-name accounts.

As a result, people now register various SNS accounts using their actual identities, make their profiles public, and participate in work while networking. There is still no SNS that permits the aforementioned new trends and new approaches to performing activities in the Web3 environment. On the other side, the Web3 movement is growing rapidly.

To begin with, it appears that finding a "job" or "occupation" without specialized expertise in certain fields, such as blockchain engineering or NFT design, is challenging when attempting to operate Web3 as a business. As a result, unless you have a specific background, you can only engage in economic activities such as speculative trading of utility tokens and NFTs of each project, DeFi, and staking, and becoming a project owner is a pipe dream that is difficult to accomplish.

The challenges can be summarized as following three points:

  1. When people try to engage in the Web3 field, they will find that the community active in the industry is very fragmented and specialized. Individuals or companies without Web3-related knowhow and technology, such as engineering or finance, have no means to enter the Web3 industry.

  2. Because there are no business social networking sites that support anonymous accounts, if you want to undertake economic activities, you have to use your real name account, and you are usually constrained by the actual world and current relationships.

  3. Today, the only "jobs" accessible for Web3 are those that are too tough to fill. Although people want to get involved in Web3 field, they do not know how to acquire expertise and there are few venues to seek for DAOs and Web3 projects, leaving only speculative token activities and limited resources as possibilities.

Because of these issues, many individuals have stated that they do not comprehend Web3, that it will not transform the world at least on a living level, that there is no need to utilize blockchain, and that releasing tokens is merely a money game.
